CCTV camera price: what the price should include.
Two quotes for "4 cameras" can be very different systems. Here is how to compare them fairly.
A complete quote lists all of these
- Cameras: brand, type (dome or bullet) and resolution
- Recorder: DVR or NVR, and how many channels
- Hard disk: size, and whether it is a surveillance-grade disk
- Cable: type and how many metres are included
- Power supply and connectors
- Labour, testing and phone viewing setup
- GST, shown as its own line
Extras to ask about before you agree
- What happens if the cable needed is longer than included
- Whether conduit or casing for the cable is extra
- Power backup for the recorder
- Who to call, and what it costs, if something stops working
Our prices
